Mechwarrior 4 Mercenaries GetLocationFromAddress Error

If you’re running MekTek v.30 of Mechwarrior 4 Mercenaries you might run into the following exception:

Nested exception! - Cause: 'GetLocationFromAddress' Error :- "Attempt to read from address 0x00000094" at 0x6faf3a

There’s a work around to the GetLocationFromAddress error:

  1. Right click on your MW4Mercs shortcut and select properties.
  2. In the target field add the following options after the location of the .exe file add a space and then:
    /gosnovideo
    E.g: “C:\Program Files\Mechwarrior Mercenaries – Mektek Mekpak\MMercs.exe” /gosnovideo

Your main menu might look a little strange but other than that the game should look normal and work fine.

If you’ve followed the above steps and are still having issues with the Mechwarrior 4 Mercenaries GetLocationFromAddress Error, please post in the comments below. To increase your chances of a solution being found include as much detail as possible (which version of the game you’re running, what operating system you have, what video card you have and steps to reproduce the issue). Screenshots are also very useful!

I downloaded Mechwarrior 4 mercenaries and installed it and I am having this same” Nested exception! – Cause: ‘GetLocationFromAddress’ Error :- “Attempt to read from address 0x00000094″ at 0x6faf3a” error which won’t even let the game launch. I have tried the /gosnovideo fix but that doesn’t help and I still have the same error message.

I’m using Windows 7 64 bit OS and I’ve tried running the game in every single compatibility mode possible with no results. Any advice?

    Hello,

you need to enable Directplay in windows 8… I had the same issue.. enables it and then it launches… Programs and Components -> Enable / disable windows components… somewhere there you can enable direct play
